Simple Troubleshooting Methods for Metal Detectors
1) Determine whether the tension of the conveyor belt is appropriate. If the conveyor belt is too loose, it is easy to deviate.
2) On the pallet bracket of the conveyor belt, there are two adjustment bolts near the outlet end of the conveyor belt, through which the tension of the conveyor belt can be adjusted.
3) Observe whether the tension of the two sides is consistent. If the tension of both sides is inconsistent, it will also cause the conveyor belt to deviate.
4) Adjust the tension of the two belts to the same level through these two adjusting bolts to solve the problem of conveyor belt deviation.
2. The instrument has no sensitivity
1) Check whether there are large metal foreign objects in the probe hole, such as coins, keys, screws, etc., and remove metal impurities.
2) Whether the product selection is correct.
3) Whether it is selected to be in the NG prohibited state, in this state, the instrument will not perform alarm and elimination actions when it detects any metal, but the signal indicator will indicate.
4) If the above conditions are ruled out and the instrument still has no detection sensitivity, please call our company.
3. The instrument periodically false alarm
1) Whether the conveyor belt is contaminated by metal impurities, if the conveyor belt is contaminated by metal impurities, the detector will alarm whenever the contaminated part passes through the detection area. Clean the conveyor belt to remove metal impurities.
2) Even if the conveyor belt does not rotate, the instrument still periodically falsely alarms. At this time, there may be a high-power interference source around the detector, such as a vibrating screen.
4. The instrument alarms irregularly
1) The detector occasionally has irregular false alarms, which may be caused by unstable power supply. This can be solved by adding a regulated power supply.
2) When the product is not detected, the instrument is normal. When the product to be detected passes through the detection area, it still alarms even if the product does not contain metal impurities, which indicates that the detection parameters are not properly adjusted. Please refer to Chapter 3.
3) If there is still a false alarm after the conveyor belt stops, check whether there are high-power interference sources around the equipment, such as motors, engines, etc.
4) Check for large pieces of moving metal around the device.
5) Check whether the grounding wire of the power supply is in good condition. In order to ensure the stable operation of the instrument, a solid grounding wire is required.
5. The motor does not start
1) On the control box panel, lightly press the "Start" and "Stop" buttons to observe whether the relays in the control module are active. If there is any action, the motor is damaged or the starting capacitor is damaged. You can buy the same type of motor and replace it. Or contact the company's after-sales service department. Non-professionals are not allowed to repair without authorization to prevent the danger of electric shock.
2) If the relay does not act, the control module may be damaged, or the connecting wire may be loose. Eliminate the loose connection cable and observe whether the fault is eliminated. If the motor still does not start, please also contact the company's after-sales service department. Non-professionals are not allowed to repair without authorization, in order to prevent improper repair and damage to other parts.
6. The product passes through the detector head, and there is no metal impurities, and the alarm is also issued
1). When the product passes through the detector head, and there is no metal impurities, it will also alarm, indicating that the detection parameters are not properly debugged.
